Button elements – How to build buttons and drive click-throughs

One of the elements you can add to your CTAs are "button" elements. These help you drive click-throughs on your website.

To add a button to your CTA, click to add an element, choose the "button" element type and a button will appear in your CTA, ready to be edited.

Editing your button text

To edit a button, double click on its text and the text editor will be activated.

In the button text editor, you can style specific words, add an image, merge tags and more.

Any content added will be contained inside the button and clicking any content inside the button will perform the button's confirmation actions.

Button click confirmation actions

With a button selected, you can manage that button's confirmation actions by clicking the "Confirmation Actions" button in the builder panel.

Here, you'll be able to control what happens when someone clicks your button. Here some of the actions you can perform upon button click:

  • You can choose to redirect your visitors to a URL
  • Show another step in the CTA
  • Display another CTA you've created in ConvertFlow (button to overlay for example)
  • Open an SMS message to a phone number

Select the action you want, and you'll be able to enter the details.

Automations
Here you can also add "Automations". These can be automations in ConvertFlow such as sending a lead alert to a team member, adding a ConvertFlow tag to segment the contact for future targeting, etc.
You can also add automations in your integrated email service provider. For example, for MailChimp you can choose which list you want to add the contact to.
Add as many automations as you need to properly segment you contacts into the right audiences in your connected tools.

Running scripts and conversion pixels
By adding scripts to your button's confirmation actions, you can fire conversion pixels in your advertising platforms and perform other custom javascript. ConvertFlow will run scripts added here once the button has been clicked.
Conditional actions
By default, ConvertFlow will perform the confirmation actions you've set. However, there may be scenarios where you want to perform actions only for certain people, such directing visitors to a different redirect URL depending on whether they are a customer or not.
By clicking "+ Add Conditional Action", you can perform confirmation actions only for the visitors that meet the conditions you've defined.

Styling your button

You'll also find button style options in the builder panel when a button is selected.

Here you can control the button's positioning in your CTA, whether it displays on desktop/mobile, button colors, fonts, width, padding, roundness, drop shadows and more.
